RE: Leaked e-mails reveal MediaDefender's antipiracy woes
It is not worth the time I'd spend finding and downloading a song illegally just to save 99 cents... unless the 99 cent song is copy protected in ways that make it impossible for me to burn to CD (for use in the car), transfer to my MP3 player (for use at the gym) or play on other computers (there are 6 in the house). At that point the choice is betwen "illegally" spending 5 minutes finding a "pirate" copy I can actually use or spending $15 to $20 for a CD that has only one song I like on it - and having to scroll through the damn CD to get to it every time I want to listen to it. Worth it now? Damn Skippy it is! When the music (and movie) industry stop trying to pick our pockets and force stuff we don't want down our throats, piracy will go away. I bought thousands of dollars worth of music from MSN Music before they were shut down by the unreasonable demands of the "industry". Until then, I have no sympathy for them at all.
