Aside from kids, I'm thinking most people don't want to interact with radio stations in this manner. If you call a radio line to win a contest, they aren't (so far as I know) using the caller ID info of winners AND losers to call you later and sell you stuff. Text messaging lets them develop databases of users and begin spamming them via text messages. Once your information is out there, good luck getting out from under the mountain of ads.
