RE: Google denies ownership of users' words
Vile. If such a concept were legal, then anybody could parallel the scenario for their benefit. A digital camera company could claim any picture taken belongs to them. Heck, a XD, Memory stick, or other flash card maker could say the same thing. At least there'd be big lawsuits between the babies as to who gets the golden pacifier, though regardless of who gets that we, the working creative lot, would still get the golden shower! And then the job gets offshored anyway.

The maker of the word processor taking claim on any number of books... Gee, the typewriter kings of the 1950s weren't so greedy, that's for sure...

And reading comprehension is one thing - deliberately making things convoluted is quite another.

Can an automobile maker take credit for where you go?

If you killed a nasty person (mass murderer, drug dealer, et al), could the maker of the bullet or the gun make a claim that they did the vigilante justice?

That's why, when I write articles and reviews on the net, I try not to take too much time with them. Especially if someone says up front all submissions become their "property"; most people know full well that regardless how good something is, they're not going to be given credit nor the time of day the moment they see that disclaimer. And that's sad.
