Not exactly what true
1) Highest taxes on the North American continent.
Not exactly true here. Sure there are places in Canada with very high tax rates but Canada as whole actually has lower taxes than the US in some areas. Also depends on what you call a tax. To me a tax is something I'm forced to pay but a lot of stuff that Canadian Tax Payers Federation, they are the guys saying we have the highest tax rate in North America, say are taxes are stuff I don't have to pay so I don't consider them taxes. For example there is Tax on cigarettes, I don't smoke so that's not a tax to me but it's counted as tax for how much we are taxed.

Another thing about taxes is Canada is paying down their debt and aren't running a deficit year to year. You think you're taxes are low now wait till you have to pay that huge debt back. You'll be wishing you lived elsewhere.

The way I see it it's like my home. I have debt in the form of mortgages, car loans and such. I have a monthly income which goes to paying off that debt and I have money left over. Now to be like the US I'd have to spend more than my income every month accumulating more and more debt each month. Eventually I have to start paying the principal down but if I go too far I need to get a second job to make the payments. That second job in government comes as tax increases.

2) Pathetic health care
Again this isn't pathetic. Sure it has problems but really it works quite well. Most of the problems we are seeing are not caused by universal health care but by aging population. More doctors are retiring than new doctors are getting into the field. Nurses are experiencing the same problem. Add to that you have a baby boomers becoming senior citizens and they are putting more demand on the system too. This isn't solved by have private health care and in fact that would probably make things worse.

Personally I prefer Canadian Health care where it is universal to private health care where you don't get any unless you have the money. Most people don't care about this till you need the services then you'd better hope you have insurance and that said insurance will cover you.

3) Mandated dual language.
What's the problem with this? If anything they should add more languages with all the Asian immigrants coming in. Why not have Chinese as 3rd official Language.

4) Quebec province wanting to succeed
What Quebec wants is joke. If Canada said today that Quebec could separate they'd quietly shut and stick with Canada. You want to see province that could Separate look to Alberta, they have money, the resources and no debt to separate. Quebec would be crushed by debt if they separated plus they'd lose 80% of their land mass unless they can convince the Fist Nations people in Quebec to separate and I highly doubt that would ever happen.
Quebec just like to do a lot saber rattling because the government jumps and gives them money.
