Yes... and... no.
Sure we all have access to some form of imagery of every point on the Earth's surface, but I doubt that law enforcement agencies would find this (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=aborlan+palawan+philippines&sll=9.481572,118.476563&sspn=2.61671,5.108643&ie=UTF8&ll=9.53778,118.623333&spn=0.040883,0.079823&t=h&z=14&om=1) very useful. The Philippines is a hotbed for fighting terrorism and Google Earth (or any other global imagery database for that matter) just doesn't provide the necessary tactical information.

What is being opened up here are images as recent as one hour ago, not four years and as sharp as a plane flying at low altitude, not a first grader's "MyFirstGlobe."
