You really never had had to spend a couple of million dollars of personal $

I can tell by this posting of yours that you personally have never had to fight to protect that IP of yours from being stolen by either individuals or a foeign government or just in being downloaded by everyone in the Non-US World. i.e. Stolen in violation of the copyright/derivative use protection agreeements that those countries have with the US and other's... I have.

This commentary of yours appears to be based in the concept "that everyone should own everything" and while that may be a good idea for an altruistic society, it aint where we live.

The reality is that someone paid for that development and its their property. You nor anyone else owns it. If that Owner happens to be a Distribution Company - they paid for that property and so its theirs to resell or license the performance of in private or public forum's.

What is remarkable here is the response from TorrentSpy's Civil Lawyer in trying to manage what would be called Damage Control in any other industry... The reality is that TorrentSpy is shutting down because if any of those parties who were damaged can document that TorrentSpy Staff members or designers 'looked at, but chose to ignore' that one of the principal uses of their SW is to commit IP Frauds, that under the new ruling out of the US District Court the creation of programs who's purpose is to commit an illegal act are prosecuteable as well...

But hey even in France there is IP Justice. The IP Cops arrested a French Teen for the unauthorized translation and publication of the last Harry Potter work in France. Evidently this individual decided to do the translation himself and in doing so published the first three chapters of the work to the Web... That earned him a stay in a French Jail and both criminal and civil prosecutions for theft of IP and fraud by wire one would think.

The point is that we are not one big happy world family and the sooner people who aspire for that to be a goal realize it isnt here yet, the better off we are.

This isnt about Law and Lawyers its about that you cant afford all the neat things you want and so you apparently believe you should have them for free - or so it appears by this non-sensical rant about the IP deamons of the world and the lawyers.
