So who needs to change??
mfanjoy has it right. Times have changed but the recording industry hasn't. Record labels are holding on for dear life trying to cling to the "old days" when they could gouge music lovers, rape the artists (figuratively speaking of course), and turn obscene profits. The recording industry needs a microscope focused on their business practices so there can be fair play in the industry. As for the near term, they need to flow with the winds of change. They are no longer leading the change and it scares them. It scares them to no end.
