Here's another point...
I'd estimate a HUGE number of lyric lines are used in normal, everyday communications.

Read a book. I guarantee you that in that book are paragraphs that contain the words from lyrics in a song somewhere.

For example, if you are on a message board about mixed drinks, and you type "I like Pina Colada's" according to these people you just broke the law.

It's just ridiculous.
