Wah! I don' WANNA have ta pay!

I can smell the rationalization a mile away. "Sharing" is when you & someone else pitch in together to buy something, or you lend someone something of yours, after which they give it back. If you're just duplicating and handing out the fruit of other people's labor, sorry it's stealing. Calling it anything else is just as dishonest as stealing, but what do you expect from crooks? If these guys ever invented something or wrote a book, and some big company decided to just start copying and selling it, you bet they'd be screaming for their lawyers.

I won't defend the rabid, overreaching, obnoxious tactics of groups like RIAA, but most people I know who pirate software, books, and films are just cheap. Piracy is a selfish and anti-social act.

Most pirated stuff is crap anyway; I never did see the draw. Pirated software is sometimes loaded with viruses, and the movies are grainy with terrible sound quality. You get what you pay for.
