Voting for IE is a no-brainer
When IE came free with Windows, it instantly put web browsing in everyone's hands. Add hotmail to that and its a no brainer; IE is one of the most influential technology products ever. Remember that internet connections were not as ubiquitous two decades ago as they are today.

My vote would go to Windows 95 though. A product that, together with falling hardware prices, truly brought computing to the masses. There's not an OS before that that my mom or dad could use. And then there was MS-Paint and Solitaire. Those must be the first 2 applications that most computer users the world over ever ran. If they hadn't come bundled with Win 95, my tryst with computers may have been delayed by a couple of years. I dont think I would've had any other reason to be drawn to my uncle's PC at 15 a decade ago.
