Clarification is good
I'm hopeful that this case will clarify to what degree the "infringer" (sic) can be subject to an injunction, which can literally stop the business. Seems harsh if something can be worked around so easily, no?

I'm glad also that there is clarification on prior art and suspect "unique combinations" of an idea.

Also, I'd really like to see a patent troll brought down. Sheesh...gaming a broken system. There must be a level in Inferno for these types...sorry.....

I do believe that our current patent system is broken and the courts and precedence woefully inadequate for our times.

At some level, we're quibbling about the conceptual design of a piece of software. I have worked with many brilliant sw engineers and in some ways, their work is unique in idea (I came up with this approach, this user experience, this metaphor) as well as exection (source), and I'm just not certain that copyright law has all that covered: Does it cover the plot as well as the words of a novel?

Any clarification of existing patents and the system that created them is good, I think.
