So it's Yahoo, then...
You paid Yahoo shill! Quit peddling your manure on us, we know where you paycheck comes from!

On a serious note--I've become aware that you don't understand much about economics. A free IM service (or any of the other crap you mentioned) doesn't pay the bills. Money does. If they give away their software with no advertising, if they serve irrelevant ads, if they hide from revenue, it won't find them.

Frankly, I hate Yahoo's ad service because their advertisers are obnoxious and intrusive. I used to use Yahoo mail but finally left because their advertising pissed me off. I switched to Gmail where I can actually see relevant, text ads. It's just the way people want things now. Even the bubble-gum-blowing teen crowd is getting sick of candy-coated everything. It's time for this old gray mare (commonly referred to as Yahoo) to change its ways. People have grown up and moved on, they need to as well.

PS- There I go using irony and sarcasm again... I hope you get it this time...
