Not a fad but it is being killed. It wouldn't die on its own.

The way I see Internet radio is medium that gets you to hear new music. Hmmmm, maybe that's why they want it dead. More control over new music we hear mean more profits. There are more profits is 5 musicians selling 5 million CDs than 50 musician selling the same.
