All they have done ?
? is discovered that open ecosystems work best even with web sites. If they took Facebook though and made it into a desktop application augmented by web services, they would find it to be much more capable than it is now, and even more popular. These guys are simply scared over MS? services + software strategy, and they are trying to give the impression that the future of sophisticated software is based around the browser. These guys remind me of what happened to Wordperfect when it refused to recognize the emergence of Windows. For the 100th time, anyone who programs knows that the browser is an inferior application platform, and simply cannot win out against the connected desktop.
