In this corner, an established operation with local sites all over the world, low overhead, that works properly and with a minimum of fuss, which operates in the open.

In that corner, a site which is all but unknown in the US, which is owned by a huge, monolithic company known for poor code, refusal to cure technical problems, arbitrary rule changes (always to make things better for the company at the expense of the users), ever-increasing prices for service, and being completely inaccessible to users who are having trouble.

It's not even going to be a contest.

It doesn't matter how long eBaY spent spying out Craig's secrets, they just aren't capable of operating the way Craigslist does. It's like an elephant trying to be a falcon, no matter how many secrets he learns, he's not getting off the ground.
