Looking at most websites now, it says "supported by IE and FF", including
Microsoft's own Hotmail. Firefox has pretty much became a standard in its own
right now. Most websites support it and those who don't are stupid not to. People
moan about standards. I use Safari on my Mac all the time. I very rarely have to
fire up Firefox because a site doesn't work. The majority of websites do follow
standards and even if you do get WMV files or MOV files it is still watchable on any
platform or browser.

Also, the fact is, most people don't change browsers from the default because the
average user simply doesn't care. The average user is someone like my mum or
girlfriend who simply needs to check their email or look at horoscopes or MySpace
and my dad who checks his email and uses it for work. Further, they are still only
on IE 6. All they know is it works. People complain about security, but they shop
online and not once have they had their details stolen. With common sense and
adequate protection such as anti-virus then most people are fine. The anti-
Microsoft and anti-Apple people just dig to try and find these flaws, when in
actual fact people couldn't care and continue using IE on Windows and Safari on
their Mac.
