Talk about warping the law to favor one side over the other. This is wild. Trust me, if this ploy works there are going to be many more civil lawyers who will start requiring defendants to manufacture and collect evidence against themselves.

At that point, the protections provided by the Fifth Amendment should take over, blocking the action. I can see where it would be a real stretch to make it work in this case, or one similar, but in a case like you describe above, different rules would necessarily apply.

And, I still think the whole thing is a giant crock.
