Terrible Idea
This is a terrible idea. I personally will not use services that pass this cost onto the consumer. The spammers are the problem. I'm not sure if you realize this, but my dad told me that Pennsylvania once considered passing a law that would require everyone to have themselves fingerprinted because there were so many fraudulent checks being used. Why should everyone have to pay 1 cent more to send email, when the criminals (spammers) can keep spamming? Let's put it another way - doesn't it cost more than 1 cent to pay for real mail? And don't we still get spam?
