And, the next question is, who will win the hearts and minds of the next
generation of developers. Google / Open Source, or Microsoft???

In the end, Microsoft will have done more to push developers and customers to open source than anybody else. It is their aggressive business practices, and continued use of the monopolies to keep prices high and restrict competition that are pushing people to Open Source / open standards, as the only way to combat Microsoft. Microsoft's addiction to the billions of dollars rolling in from the twin cash cows will keep them from reacting the way they need to react until it is way too late. Heck, it is probably already too late. Without Microsoft, there may have never been such a big reason for Open Source and open standards. Interesting . . . . . .
