Whoa on the gun stuff!

Take away guns and people will still kill with bats, knives, swords and even their bare hands.

Maybe but studies show probably not. People are a bit less likely to stab/bludgeon someone else and get dirty compared to shooting from a distance and staying clean. Also, without guns, the victims have at least a fighting chance, with guns, they're dead before they have a chance to go to their bedroom to get their own gun. Sorry, guns don't make people safer. They make it easier for people to kill people.

Look at Washington DC and what happened when gun laws got tighter... then look at Texas where the right to open carry exists. Much lower crime rates.

Washington DC has a large population in poor (maybe even slum like) living conditions, they have ethnic diversity and low levels of tolerance. Texas is more wide open, even in the cities, the ethnic diversity is lower (probably because of how guns in the hands of whites were used against non whites in a previous century)

With easy access to guns, killing is easier. Defense by the potential victims is harder (much easier to duck a bat in full swing than a bullet) You don't have arguments that hold water, no matter how much you label the "uptight liberals nut jobs ". It's the nut jobs of any stripe who get their hands on a gun that do the most damage. They need to be prevented from having a gun in the first place.
