It's not about a DRM-Free OS or whatever you mentioned, it's mostly about market share. It's the same reason you don't have WMP. There's just not enough Linux users willing to use the software and hook to the technology to justify the expenses involved.

Sorry. You'll have to stick with Banshee and Helix, which should play your DRM free AAC music you purchased from the iTunes installed in your other partition.
