Wish list for MS: Tax on Developers
This sort of thing is an attempt to tax developers. They want every developer to pay $x per year to an organization that keeps track of their "competence" (ability to pay) in order to work in the industry. In their wildest dreams, something like this would happen. Unlikely in the real world. This sort of pay-to-play scam has been neutralized by end-run things like open source. (If MS is behind it, this organization would be a front like the BSA or the SCO investors - I would love to know what their definition of a competent developer is re: GNU/Linux and open source!)
