Again, part of the problem is the great majority of newspapers don't charge a subscription fee to access their online content the same way they do to have the newspaper shipped to your house. So while the great majority of newspapers realize the necessity of having a website and putting content online, they're losing a revenue source by doing so.

Yes, they can have advertising on their website, but A. can the paper charge as much as a print ad, and B. if it's a small community paper, will the 'local businesses' find Internet advertising useful for them?
