Another analogy for you
Here's another analogy to your privacy complaint, No_Ax:

Imagine a drug dealer using a cell phone to set up a drug deal. Imagine he was on a crowded elevator while involved in said conversation. Imagine the crowded elevator also happened to include a plainclothed police officer. Would you expect a judge to throw out the case because the dealer should have expected privacy on the crowded elevator?

You shouldn't - the dealer was in a public forum in the form of an elevator. Anything he says is open to anyone within earshot, thereby denying any expectation of privacy. If he wants privacy, he needs to be in his home or car.

The same thing goes for anything posted on MySpace. If a sex offender is doing the posting - and especially if they're presenting themselves as children (or even 'helpful, understanding adults') so as to entice potential victims - they need to be flushed out of hiding.

If you were in a public forum (a street, for instance), and noticed something - be it human, animal, or anything else - stalking YOUR child with apparent harmful intent, you'd think nothing of flushing it out with physical force, if necessary. Why should it be different on MySpace?
