- We Need More Information But This Does Confirm A Lot

First the theory that Microsoft isn't a software company but rather a law firm is supported by this purchase. Law Firms over the years have run and owned public relations and marketing firms for some time. They think they und Astroturfing (the creation of the appearance of grass roots support for a product) is something that Abramoff likely learned from the Gates Family Law and Lobby firm and exposed prior to his incarceration.
Second, the high price paid may be a form of payback or hush money. We would need to know how Microsoft or Microsoft officer's used this firm prior to its purchase. Who runs the company today. Did they use to work for Microsoft or the Gates family. Is this an arms length deal or was their a close relationship prior to the sale? In the latter case stop the presses.
Third, Soros interest in Microsoft is explained. Soros enjoys controlling media companies and if Microsoft management intends to transform the company from software to media, that explains his interes.
Finally, it is now fairly likely that Microsoft technology involving media will not pay off as intended. Lets assume that you are interested in advertising something. You hire actors, directors, camera men and other expertise and create the advertisement. It shows on TV in Hi-Def and regular mode and on YouTube in Flash, elseware on the net in JavaFX and Quicktime and on the Microsoft controlled Internet media what is it going to show in?
Advertisers simply are not going to understand the extra costs in converting media to Microsoft proprietary format. That proprietary format just will not get used unless it can be offered for no additional cost (what a lie) which it will be owing to this deal. - Posted by: mighetto Posted on: 05/18/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
