Speed cameras at junctions etc for catching offending motorists were renamed "safety cameras" in the vain hope that this would make them less unpopular.

It didn't work. The cameras are made by a company called Gatso and there is an individual called "Captain Gatso" who goes around pulling the cameras out of the ground, burning them or smashing them up.

So far, nobody has ratted Capt. Gatso to the cops......

So much for renaming things! happy
