I sense a money-making opportunity here for almost everyone.
What MRT is claiming is that because a DRM scheme exists, it must be used.

Given the state of the US judicial system and how vague the DMCA is, I have taken the precaution of making several DRM schemes. If MRT wins, I will license to them (for a small fee) my DRM schemes for use to prevent unauthorized access to their digital content. The DRM is copyrighted content after all, and is as deserving of protection as any song or movie. Additionally, I want to partner with everyone else who comes up with their own DRM schemes. After all, I wouldn't want anyone to gain access to my DRM without proper authorization.

If we repeat this enough times, we can ensure that all copyrighted material is protected by several Gigabytes of DRM. Hooray!! - Money for everyone except the guys that own the original protected material.
