- Read Write VS Read Only

My favorite soapbox of the day? Lets not be cheeky monkeys. I am critical of this article because it appears to have a deceitful purpose. It distorts the fact that everyone who uses the Internet is now Web 2.0.
This 8 percenters producing Web 2.0 social content is a bogus statistic because in Web 2.0 silence still indicates interest.
Did not your interest get counted just by accessing the page/ forum? You contribute just by looking is the point. This is different than TV. With TV you do not get feedback valuable to advertisers like that.
Do try to stay with me. We moved from a read only and let your lawyers chat world (because you are afraid of a law suite) to a read write and chat like a US citizen world almost over night.
It happened because of corruption in our governments. In pointing out the deceitful we realized that US Citizens - unlike EU citizens - can pretty much say, post and video any public figure without fear of a law suit for slander/ liable - I am not a lawyer so this is but the perspective of a US citizen. But US Citizenship has never meant more than it does today.
EU citizens will not be part Web 2.0 the way you and I will. The 8 percenters producing Web 2.0 social content about public figures will be predominantly US citizens. See this and see how the US will control world economies for the next 1000 years. See this and see how the rich and powerful might wish to commission studies with deceitful purpose.
Now lets chat email.
Email is not Web 2.0. Email is being replaced by Web 2.0. Think about attaching a photo or a film to email and then sending it to just your close friends and family. That attachment is copied several times. It gets stored many places. It gets backed up archived etc by service providers. Compare and contrast with posting on a forum or on a Wiki. The wave of web 2.0 is a mighty one. It is so mighty that plans made a decade or more ago are being undone.
That gets me back to unbounded medium. Lets say you have spent a lot of money on cable. You expect to make your investment plus back in the next few years. You have corrupted US government officials to make cable more attractive to consumers by encouraging the removal of unbounded medium - IE that TV spectrum. Only now Web 2.0 happens, TV gets broadcasted AOL style; Web 2.0 becomes the TV; hence that unbounded medium can not be purchased and then not used like Enron; hence you do not make your investment back or profit. It is US citizens chatting like you and I are today that makes this happen. Huzzah to you citizen. - Posted by: mighetto Posted on: 05/07/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
