Am I the only one who sees You Tube as a great marketing vehicle? You have a
passionate group of people who post snippets of things they care about. You have
an audience of folks who seek out the site to track down relics from their media
past. When I find an obscure clip, I'm often ready to buy a collection or an album
to keep because nothing on YouTube is permanent (or high quality!). But there's
no option to buy because the barons are too busy filing suit to see the potential.
What we need is a new generation of producers who understand that copyright is
not a hammer and that every unauthorized use is not a nail. Mixed tapes never
killed any record label, nor will any YouTube video ruin any producers. Let's join
