Let Lesser Countries Sell Air; FUD
Very clearly the stakes are high. Here is a take on this article. The more Fear Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) that can be generated the greater the likelihood of public-private partnerships involving US air waves. The air over the USA will literally become the greatest public commons and source of pure democracy of all time when bandwidth currently allocated for TV becomes available owing to the country's move to HI-DeF format.

Today you can watch "bad boys" on TV but you can watch "bad cops" only on the Web. Tomorrow web rights will be part of the payment to those agreeing to be on TV. I suspect that any person whose image appears on TV will have rights to copy the clip to the Web for the purpose of making his/her own comments on what was filmed and how it was edited. And TV as we know it today will become like AOL is presenting films today. In other words, TV will be Web 2.0. It will be like you get in a 200 per night hotel room.
