were they using windows server?
Was Turbo Tax's website using windows server? If they were, I can see how easily it could go down. If so, I'd recommend using what Microsoft used for their websites when they actually cared about reliability for once (because it's for themselves)- use Unix. I just use Linux for everything. You can always rely on Microsoft software to fail you. That's what it's designed to do. That's how they make their money.
