Why e-file a federal tax return when its convenient and cheap to file by mail? Use your favorite tax prep SW, print and mail your return ... a few sheets of paper, ink, and a $0.39 stamp.

I prepare and file my state return (and paid what I owed) on-line (through the Dept. of Revenue web site) because its easy, convenient, and free. I don't think the same can be said for the IRS.

Now if only my local return could be prepared electronically ...
