Sales Tax versus Use Tax
Internet sales tax has never been "banned by law", it only is mandatory if you buy something online from a vendor in your own state. Purchases from out of state vendor require paying the same tax amount, only the responsibility lies with the consumer, not the vendor. An honor system which most Americans do not know of or comply with.
