It is a stock answer to blame video games, tv, etc.... when something bad happens. They look for a scapegoat and the entertainment industry is a very easy target.
No one wants to look at themselves and think that maybe, just maybe, they should shoulder any of the blame. No one wants to look and see that maybe they should have said something when they noticed that something wasn't quite right.
It is all fine and good to ignore a problem until something disasterous like this happens. Until that time people are happy to sit there in ignorant bliss. It happens all of the time.
In the fifties it was rock 'n' roll. Elvis was the root of all evil in their eyes. Now it is video games and TV. In another fifty years what will they have to blame? Eventually you would think they would run out of excuses but I don't think that is going to happen.
Until people start to take a good long look in the mirror nothing will change.
My heart goes out to the families that have suffered this tragic loss. - Posted by: Shelendrea Posted on: 04/17/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
