Blogs can cut out the middleman and bring 1st hand accounting
but they can be less trustworthy when you factor that a journalist presents a face and the possibility of lawsuit if or when they gloss over, make up, or misrepresent the discovered facts of a circumstance, especially an important event. Both journalists and bloggers need be taken with a grain of salt early on when events happen, because human nature has a sick side of attention grabbing and not necessarily truth and compassion.
