Z-Force was a '90s instance
Z-Force Communications took a jab at this long ago. They attempted an optimized file switch for common protocols. They had marketing failures from the get-go, but they executed on the principle of a distributed machine saving money about a decade ago. Those Bulgarians are smart. They are the best programmers I've ever met in my life. God I couldn't believe the sheer contrast between these guys and what the hell else I see around.

Now as far as forming a great business, there was some mentality miscalculations their leadership made in the behavior of the tech purchase gnomes in their target customer companies. Plus, they were killed by the death of the .com bubble burst. But this principle made sense long ago. That's how Vladimir Miloushev described the file switch- in terms of cost-savings in a unified, distributed file system. There's lots more than can be distributed. He also mentioned that. Once again, this was a decade ago this Bulgarian foresaw the concept. There is a lot of vision in some of America's most precious tech talent. These guys are seriously valuable.
