The days of Excel and Access are over??
This is one of the dumbest comments I've heard in a while. This borders on the Open Office / Google Docs will kill MS Office. To say that Excel is not an essential part of business today is completely misinformed. Any risk, six sigma, TVM or any other data driven enterprise manages its operations based on this simple spreadsheet tool. Ask any manager, analyst or consultant. The extended functions of pivot tables, charts and security functions are essential to corporations.
Access has its place in business, just look at how much businesses spend on Access training for employees. Its a hybrid program ment to bridge the gap between the developer and the end operations user. I've seen it used successfully in a productive enviorment, whereas Oracle, MS SQL server and crystal reporting fail repeatedly because to make minor changes take developer involvement.
Web OS may have a future in consumer products, however the local OS is essential to business if only for information security.
