OS over a Network
Notice that I did not use the words "...over theInternet" but simply the Network.
Once Google establishes its direct Fiber links to most of the Last Mile Service Providers (ILEC/MSO/RBOC etc)and provides their DeskTop and Software Apps and Bowser on line they will effectively solve the single biggest problem with any OS over the Internet-Reliable low latency access.
With their big data centers linked via their own or leased Fiber nationwide (fully redundant/secure and readily accessible)not to mentioned managed 24X7, they effectively provide us (SP) with a single source for a host of service we can offer our subscriber base of broadband customers.

Can you imagine an Office Communication Service package that included full VoiceIP, High speed data, a hosted OS and full line up of Desk Top applications and highest quality link to the world via Googles Internet connections.
