99.999 Uptime
We still do not know what happened to Grey, the Tandem Nonstop computer scientist who spent his last 10 years at Microsoft Research San Francisco before mysteriously disappearing in his sailboat off the Farralon Islands.

His contribution to the world was 99.999 uptime for data. The world has long been provided 99.999 uptime for voice and there really was no reason not to have 99.999 uptime for data as well. We would not have the Web 2.0 world of today without Grey. Lets not let his contribution be neglected.

The days of Excell and Access are over. The latter has been abandoned even by Microsoft and the former even Ozzie can not save because the life of an Excell spread sheet in a business environment is just as long as the person who created that spread sheet is employed by that business. In otherwords it is a personal tool and not a business asset. If you are building a business why even go there? Why not just MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server your applications from the start and use report writers like Crystal Reports or web server pages?
