No I don't think you should be compelled. The government should not have that kind of control. It's your camera, installed at your own expense. It was on your property and you are paying for its operation. Why should anyone have any say in what you do with it. It's up to you and your conscience as to what you do in that situation, The government should not be allowed to make moral choices for people. Now that's not to say that I would not go over to your house and beat the crap out of you and take it! Or for that matter sue you for it. but then again I am a individual and not the government. Then there's the fact that you are an individual citizen and not a cop. It's the police departments job to solve crimes not yours. They decide to take the risk when the take the oath and your under no obligation to risk your own safety to help them. Like I said it's a choice and should not be an obligation. You can not litigate good scense.
