Let's say theoretically that you were raped, tortured and nearly killed, or someone you loved suffered the same fate. How would you feel if someone who could aide in the capture of the perpetrator refused to talk to the police because they were "scared" or because they wrapped themselves in the Bill of Rights? While I agree that the U.S. government should be very limited in what they can do to coerce citizens, I also believe we have a responsibility toward our fellow human beings. Both sides handled this particular situation quite badly, in my opinion, and hopefully both law enforcement and bloggers have learned something.

But as has been stated by someone much wiser than I - All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
