Lets put that into perspective...
The First Continental Congress was comtemplating its own self destruction and the appointment of the Second Continetal Congress for the expressed purpose of over throwing the current government (Britan). There were many first drafts for the declaration of independance and many "not professional journalists" (like say Ben Franklin) had copies.

Legally (British law) they could be compelled to hand this "evidence" over to the courts/government. Obviously no one did and its a VERY good thing they did not.

When the second Congress began looking at what was important (and would make its way into the constitution) they fully understood that a FREE PRESS (no one said anything about professional) was absolutely mandatory for the well being of all Americans. They were right.

The judge that ordered this person to be held in contempt should not only have his judgeship terminated, he should be disbarred from every practicing law !!!
