Bass ackwards
I don't think this is Apple's call. It is usually up to the recording artist and/or publisher. It's the publishers who have a problem with digital music. If you've got a true indie band who wholly owns their music, publishing and distribution, I don't think it should be too hard to get into the iTunes store...

Actually, several independents have reported that the only way they could get their material on iTunes was to agree to Apple's non-negotiable "it will have DRM" terms. The artists and original publisher wanted DRM-free.

Shows to go ya, the biggies like EMI can make their own rules.
