It really is about "force".
You act as if the US laws and view point is the rest of the world. Do you think countries with topless beachs are going to agree with what you consider porn? How about countries that stone women to death for having their face or hair uncovered? Are you ready to agree with them? How about on line libraries? Oviously part of thier content is considered pornographic by many. How about sites offering birth control and HIV transmission. Some think the video showing how to properly put on and use a condom is pornographic. Is that the level of censorship you really want?

While *current* US law doesn't force registering in a particular domain, there is nothing preventing passage of a new law. Consider if you will love fest between religion and the Repubicans in the last few years, oh yeah, that law could easily happen. Now be honest, don't you think this "tool" would quickly become a political weapon against anyone not liked? I can almost promice you that Planned Parenthood, Abortion Clinics, etc. would be forced to register in no time.

Hey, think about this. Given the mass hysteria over sex offenders of late, my bet we would quickly add them to the list of who must be registered even thought theri site has nothing at all to do with sex. (You know, just to let the world know...)

And that is all just in the good old USA. Can you begin to imagine who would be forced to register in say the middle east countries, China, etc.

And finally, this is the question that seems to stop every person that takes your position. "Who gets to decide what porn is"? As I said in another post, the ONLY judgement I will accept in that area is my own. So your only open option at this point is to agree that I will set the world standard for what is and is not porn. What? You don't think so? You mean you may have a very different opinion? Gee, imagine that...
