Self Regulation is Important when Government Should Stay Out!
This is no different than when the video game industry put ratings on their games. Regulation does not have to come from the top. We should not split hairs over what pornography is versus eroticism or even art! There needs to be a place where sites can serve their adult content that can keep those under legal age from viewing. If they do not want to join this domain, they should have the choice, but I believe many reputable adult content sites will follow suit and register with .xxx This is not an issue of censorship. Adult book stores are not located in a department store, so why should an adult site be located in the same domain as Disney? We need to be able to shield our children and the unwanted from seeing graphic words and images from the host, not just the viewer. This is a major issue facing us in this day of free speech and world communication. Just because you can say or show something doesn't mean that you should show it to those who are not of age to see it, i.e. parents filtering their children's viewing or even adults who do not want to see xxx content.
