- Sued for not hiring you?
-
I would think that unless there was some way to prove that you were discriminated against (as a member of a protected group), you would be wasting your time and a heap of money. There is no law that I am aware of that requires a company to hire anyone that happens to apply. They could be sued if it is proven that they practice discrimination against a protected group, but that still does not require them to hire you, only pay the penalty for discriminating against the protected group.
Now, on termination, that would be a different matter. The company could be compelled to re-hire you and pay for all of the back wages that should have been yours if they had not wrongly terminated you.
Again, these are basic areas covered in Employment Law that most undergrad business students learn.
