Well, there are other issues here...
that no one mentions here. Or haven't any of you folks burnt up your Xbox 360 yet?

I'm currently waiting for my 3rd Xbox 360 from the MS repair center. Apparently this time they plan to send me back the one I actually sent in, whereas, the first time they kept mind and sent me someone else?s problem Xbox 360 that was repaired!

Both times, the 360 stopped working and flashed 3 red lights every time I tried starting it. I know gamers on Xbox Live who have been through more boxes than I have. I've already admonished Microsoft for the poor design flaws that are causing folks to deal with their boxes failing.

The fact Microsoft has extended the warranty for ALL Xbox purchases from their initial 90 or 180 days to a full year at NO COST, affirms that they are having significant problems with reliability, which must be costing MS a lot, not to mention pissing-off their customers. And I like Microsoft ? this, at a time, when so many like to bash them!

So, for those of you who have not had to send your Xbox 360 in for repairs yet, consider yourself lucky ? for now. I?m lucky because I bought the 2 year extended warranty when my first one burnt up ? and I NEVER buy extended warranties! I told the MS service center guy that I?m sure I?ll be sending them more Xbox 360?s for repair in the next 2 years. Boy, was I right.

So, you see, I?m NOT surprised at ALL about this announcement of a new, better Xbox 360! Microsoft can?t keep paying the bill for repairing these things and leaving their customers thinking they should have looked somewhere else for good game play.

At least, and to their credit, Microsoft voluntarily extended their short warranty to one year. Still, it?s not enough for the original Xbox 360, in my opinion.

Of course, we could just look at it like a $400 one year subscription fee for being able to play our $50 or $60 games! And when it runs out, we can pay about $500 for the new, improved Xbox 360 Elite. Hey, what a deal! I feel so used. sad
