Part of being a parent is learning ...
... the difference between influense and control, and that education, not censorship, offers the best protection to your child.

>> Even ONE porn site viewed by my child is unacceptable.

It appears you have at least one child. I have three, myself. (One young adult, one teen, one adolescent). Threats to their well-being are everywhere. Matches, automobiles, smoking, alcohol, ... porn. Why don't we outlaw these things? Because they have legitimate use among adults. Even porn. Responsibility for teaching this to kids falls to the parent(s).

Have you talked to your kid(s) about the dangers of matches? Have you explained why they can be used by grownups and not by children? Do they know what to do (and what not to do) when they come across them? Did you know that combined with proper supervision, the same approach will help them deal with porn?

I don't know how old your child is, but if they are old enough to use the internet, I suggest that you start having age-appropriate conversations with them about sex, nudity, morals, and other sensitive but important topics.

Notice I said 'conversations', not a lecture. Make it a two-way street and over time you will do two important things; teach them to be open and honest with you, and you will learn how much they have already know, or think they know.

Kids are not pets to be kept on a leash, they are people learning how to interact with their world. You may not be able to control their actions elsewhere, but you can influence them tremendously. Your control will end someday. Your influence may well last their lifetime.

I am sick to death of people who think we should amend the Constitution to suit their own wants.
