Interesting I guess....
But unless they present this properly, it will flop. What's the DRM going to be like? Will I need a proprietary player? Will the player need to report back on what I do? Can I move the "Free" TV shows to my iPod? WIll this mean that Apple gets to deliver the same TV content for free now?

Or will this be an expensive flop? I can see potential if they allow this material to be used by the consumer (think MySpace) like youtube currently allows. Will ZDNet be allowed to link to this video space (like they do to youtube now)? Will end users be able to upload and share? If users can't upload and share, then why would they want this? Is this simply going to be a new media distribution channel crossing iTunes/unBox/etc... with the community feel of YouTube/MySpace? Are they really targeting YouTube, or is that a distractor?

Sorry for the brain dump, but there are a lot of issues not being addressed in this press release.
