Why not use MS Shared Access
Most of the WiFi hotspots use it without any problems. Just restart the next day and all the crapware is gone.

Set it up (correctly) for the kids to use and there isn't much they can do to screw up the computer.

I use it on another computer without any problems.
BUT, I do have a hassle getting updates though.

-OR- Use any version of Linux that runs from CD/DVD.
I use that too as a novelty.
